If the inbox just spins or shows a blank page, start with the browser. Clear cookies and cached data — Yahoo Mail is sensitive to stale session data. Try opening it in a private/incognito window. If that works, the issue is in your browser''s stored data. Also check if the browser extension list includes any ad blockers or script blockers that might interfere with the interface.
Wrong password is the obvious cause, but not the only one. If you''re sure the credentials are correct and still getting an error, the account might be temporarily locked after multiple failed attempts. Wait 15–30 minutes before retrying. For ''Invalid ID or password'' errors, double-check that Caps Lock is off and there are no extra spaces in the login field.
- Check your Outbox folder — messages sometimes queue there instead of sending
- Attachments over 25 MB will block sending; compress or use a file-sharing link instead
- If you''re using a third-party email client like Outlook or Thunderbird, verify that SMTP settings are correct: smtp.mail.yahoo.com, port 465 or 587
- Regenerate the app password in account security settings if the client suddenly stopped authenticating
First, check Spam and Trash — aggressive filters sometimes move legitimate messages there. Then review your filters list under Settings: a misconfigured rule might redirect or auto-delete incoming mail. If a specific sender''s emails never arrive, ask them to check their own bounce notifications.
The built-in search sometimes lags behind on indexing new messages. If a recent email doesn''t appear in results, try searching by sender address directly or use the date filter to narrow it down. Clearing the browser cache often helps when the search bar itself freezes or doesn''t respond to input.
- Disable ''Ask before loading external images'' in Mail settings if inline images are missing
- For attachments that fail to download, try a different browser — some download handlers conflict with certain Chromium versions
- Large attachments may time out on slow connections; switching to a stable Wi-Fi network usually resolves this
